Gloria "Toti" Bell

 

Toti Bell has created art for 30 years. Her Mexican Folk art and primarily "Dia e Los Muertos" art mirror her Mexican heritage. Generally considered the most prolific "Day of the Dead" artist in America she has published three years of the original "Dia de los Muertos" calendar honoring the beloved Mexican tradition of remembering the dead every year on November 2nd. Her work embraces the memories of past heroes, artists and relatives as well as famous cultural contemporaries.

Toti's art has sold internationally, including in the United States; the Latin American Museum of Art, Long Beach, CA; Southwest Museum and Gene Autry Museum, Los Angeles, CA; Heard Museum and Chicano Museum, Phoenix, AZ; Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson ,AZ; and the Buddy Holly Museum inn Austin, TX. She has been an influential member of Self Help Graphics located in East Los Angeles for 20 years.

Her work mediums are acrylic, watercolor, ceramics and bronze sculpture. Born and raised in East Los Angeles she now lives and creates in both the Banning desert and Miami ,AZ.
