My current work further explores the conjunction of intentional experiences, i.e., perception, dreams, imagination, hallucination, etc.. The phenomenological nature of the above experiences was delineated by Edmund Husserl in his book "Ideas," and is breifly explained by his statement that "consciousness is always consciousness of something." It was however Martin Heidegger, a somewhat later German philospher, who really laid the groundwork for my somewhat "visionary" work with his so called interpretive phenomenology. The object of meaning as such is a matter of individual interpretation and not an precise absolute, inscribed in mathematical certainty. Like painters who took note of Freud's contribution to a certain underlying meaning of dreams and signs, I think that there is a new world opened to the artist in the fundemental ground work constructed by Heidegger that leads to a postmodern synthethis of multinoetic realities.
